The Land Transportation Office (LTO) is eyeing the creation of additional district offices in order to expand its services to the people applying and renewing their driver’s license and vehicle registration.

LTO chief Vigor Mendoza II said the move is to bring the offices of the agency closer to their clients in order to save time and money, and eventually discourage tapping the services of fixers, some of them offering their services on social media.

“We are now conducting a study to identify strategic areas where we could put up additional district offices in order to expedite and make comfortable the LTO services to the people,” said Mendoza. He issued the statement as he graced the opening of the LTO’s new district office in La Loma, Quezon City.

Mendoza pointed out anew that if LTO could properly execute the services to the public, Filipinos will no longer seek help from fixers. Aside from the creation of new offices, the LTO is gearing towards digitalization to ensure a hasty delivery of services as the Marcos administration is pushing to curb bureaucratic processes in government agencies.
