BAGUIO CITY – Mayor Benjamin Magalong has ordered the lifting of lockdown orders on five barangays with coronavirus disease 2019 cases effective Sunday, May 10.Magalong issued Memorandum 54 lifting the lockdown orders over Teacher’s Village, Sto. Tomas Proper; San Luis Ext., Woodsgate Subd.; Purok 1, Camp 8; Sitio Sto. Niño, Bakakeng Central; and Sector 5, Dominican-Mirador effective May 10.
Magalong said that based on the reassessment done by the city’s contact tracing teams, lockdowns were no longer necessary in these areas.Meanwhile, Magalong also issued Memorandum No.56, directing the Baguio City Police Office to implement a lockdown in Barangay Padre Zamora effective 1 p.m of May 9.
The memo said that, despite the imposition of the ECQ, reports have reached of blatant disobedience by residents of Barangay Padre Zamora loitering around without wearing facemasks, and that they have been disobeying the requirement of physical distancing. Magalong suspended all the Home Quarantine Passes in the barangay, and all exit and entry will now be restricted to Authorized Persons Outside Resident and those with medical emergencies.
