The Golden Disc Awards 2023 gave recognition to the big names that stood out in the K-pop industry in the past year.has"continued to significantly contribute to the growth of the Korean music industry by fostering a creative environment and encouraging new talents" in more ways than one.
The key categories at this year's GDA include Digital Song Division, Album Division, and Rookie Artist of the Year, which are all determined by 60% sales and 40% expert evaluation from a group of industry officials, K-pop reporters, music program producers, pop culture critics, and major distribution officials. The Golden Disc Awards evaluation committee also focused on"nominee selections, fairness of criteria, the relevance of categories, suitability of standards, and more.
