Late enrollment allowed until November — DepEd
The Department of Education on Wednesday announced that students who have yet to register in both public and private schools for the upcoming school year will be accommodated until November through the late enrollment process.
Based on DepEd Order No. 3 series of 2018, a “school may accept late enrollees provided that the learner will be able to meet eighty percent of the prescribed number of school days for each school year and the quarterly requirement to pass the grade level as governed by the latest existing applicable DepEd issuances.”
The department also noted that the deadline for submitting documentary requirements to enrollment will be deferred until December 2020 which will be implemented both in public and private schools. “However, parents are invited to submit the documents as soon as possible,” it added. DepEd maintained that “schools cannot deny students who wish to enroll but are missing or missing documents while enrolling.
The latest DepEd enrollment data showed that there are 1.7 million enrollees in Kindergarten; 11.7 million in Elementary; 7.6 million in Junior High School ; and 2.7 million in Senior High School . There are also 64, 158 non-graded learners with disabilities who registered along with 374, 427 under the Alternative Learning System .
