Vastly-improved big man James Laput is not one to shy away from the challenge of helping Magnolia win the PBA Commissioner's Cup championship.
No less than Magnolia team governor Rene Pardo issued that call to coach Chito Victolero to go all out and win the import-spiced conference crown in an effort to finally end five years of championship futility.'Without a doubt, the mindset is to come out with the hunger to establish ourselves as a force in the league,' Laput told the Manila Times, whose team kicks off the season-opening PBA Commissioner's Cup on November 5 against TNT.
The former Young Harris Slotman averaged over 13 points and close to 10 rebounds in the PBA On Tour as he took advantage of the playing time given to him by coach Chito Victolero, while Ian Sangalang was recovering from a health condition.Laput shared that he's been religiously working out to ensure he gets to achieve more and prepare well for the coming PBA season.
