PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday named lawyer Hilario Paredes as the new chairman of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority . Paredes took over from retired police general Thompson Lantion , who had been appointed just last Sept. 10.No reason was given for the leadership change. Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin confirmed the appointment in a text message to reporters on Tuesday. Paredes was already a member of the BCDA board prior to his elevation to the chairmanship.
Before he graduated from law school, Paredes interned at the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 96, which was presided by now Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, who was then the judge.After passing the 1996 Bar Examinations, Paredes started his law career at the Law Firm of Alan F. Paguia , Villanueva Bernardo & Gabionza Law Offices , Castillo Laman Tan Pantaleon & San Jose Law Offices , and then in Puyat Jacinto and Santos Law Office , where he became a partner in May 2003.
