Authorities in the Philippines apprehended a suspected member of the Japanese criminal syndicate, Luffy Group, for alleged ATM card theft. The suspect, identified as Sasaki, was arrested in San Pablo City, Laguna, and faces deportation back to Japan to face charges.
SAN PABLO CITY, Laguna – The Bureau of Immigration arrested an alleged member of the notorious Japanese criminal syndicate Luffy Group in Barangay Soledad here on Monday afternoon, Jan. 27.The Japanese Embassy in Manila said that the suspect, along with his accomplices, used deception to steal automated teller machine cards from their victims.
A report from the Japan National Police Agency identified the suspect as a member of the Luffy Group that allegedly still operates telecom fraud and extortion schemes in the Philippines.
