Members of the National Government-Bangsamoro Government Intergovernmental Relation Body (IGRB) met for the first time in Davao City, to discuss the terms of reference for the agency, nine months after the inauguration of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
The meeting, led by Finance Secretary Carlos G. Dominguez and Bangsamoro Minister of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education Mohagner Iqbal, along with the members of the agency, was held on December 16 at the Marco Polo Hotel in Davao City.
Dominguez said the establishment of the IGRB underscores the commitment of the President Rodrigo Duterte to the achievement of a just and lasting peace in Mindanao. He added that the body provides an institutional mechanism for sustained cooperation and coordination between agencies. He also said that this will ensure that their policies and programs are service-oriented, people-centric, and transformative to bring tangible benefits and real change to the lives of the people in this region, which he is also confident that the Body will be able to thresh out the protocols and procedures.
