THE regional office of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development is warning individuals and firms engaged in selling beachfront lots to stop their activity as the department will be going after them.“Naa pa gihapon sa Facebook, this is a warning ayaw hulata na muadto mi didto ,” says DHSUD-Davao Regional Director Atty. Miguel Palma Gil warned sellers of beachfront lots during his recent guesting at Kapehan sa Dabaw held at SM City Davao.
He said many individuals particularly OFWs are being enticed to buy these properties because of the beautiful beach, only to find that the property has no proper access, no utilities such as power and water, no access to main roads, and the development is not approved by the local government unit.“Daghan na nabiktima ,” Palma Gil said. The DHSUD-11 head warned buyers to be very careful in dealing with these sellers as some firms have disappeared after getting payments from their victims.
