HPEPH weekly COVID update: Increase in hospitalizations

Hastings Prince Edward Public Health is reporting a drop in new COVID-19 cases in its latest update.

According to its COVID-19 dashboard, public health reported 175 new high-risk cases of COVID-19 in the region. That is down from the 201 reported the week before. Known active high-risk cases also went down. There are 211 known active high-risk cases of COVID-19, down from 257.Despite this, COVID-19 hospitalizations did see an increase. 43 people are in hospital with COVID-19. That’s up from 35 last week.
