Kate MacQuarrie shared this photo from Prince Edward Island of a mushroom sitting on a tree. I didn’t know this, but Kate told me red squirrels put them there to dry them for winter storage, then move them to a nearby tree cavity or underground cache for winter storage. Food preservation at it’s finest, Kate. Thanks for sharing with us.
