MANILA - The House of Representatives on Tuesday recorded another case of COVID-19 among its personnel, the second in as many days, raising its total to 18.
The latest employee who contracted the disease is from the chamber's Bills and Index Service, said House Secretary General Jose Luis Montales. The employee has been working from home since June 18 but went to their office on June 29 to submit some documents, he added. The 17th personnel who tested positive for the virus reported for work on July 14 and 16, Montales said in a statement Monday.
The incidents came as President Rodrigo Duterte is scheduled to physically deliver his 5th State of the Nation Address on Monday, July 27 at the Batasang Pambansa.
