Indonesia’s Finance Ministry will start charging 10 percent VAT on imported digital goods and services, which includes video and music streaming subscriptions, starting from July 1.
According to Finance Ministerial Regulation No. 48/2020, the tax will be collected from customers by the digital goods and services providers or their representatives in Indonesia that will be appointed by the ministry’s Taxation Directorate General.“The regulation will apply to music and film streaming subscriptions, digital applications and games as well as online services from abroad.
