A high-value individual, identified as alias 'Marvin,' 41, was apprehended by the Drug Enforcement Team of Siniloan Municipal Police Station (MPS) during a buy-bust operation on January 13 in Barangay Wawa, Siniloan, Laguna. The suspect was listed as a high-value target in the Siniloan MPS drug watch list. Alias 'Marvin' was caught after selling a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing shabu to a police officer acting as a buyer.
Recovered from his possession were additional sachets and two ice bags containing 200 grams of shabu worth P1,360,000. The raiding team also seized a gray sling bag used as a container and the marked P500 bill used in the buy-bust.Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas, regional director of Police Regional Office (PRO) Calabarzon, commended the Siniloan MPS for their successful operation. He stated, 'We stand firm in ensuring a safer and drug-free Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon).' Charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against the suspect before the Laguna Prosecutor's Office in Santa Cruz, Laguna.In a separate incident, a 48-year-old tricycle driver, alias 'Allan,' of Barangay Gulod, Itaas, Batangas City, was apprehended in Barangay Alangilan, Batangas City during an operation at around 10:55 p.m. on Tuesday. Batangas Police Provincial Office Director Col. Jacinto Malinao Jr. identified the pusher. He yielded approximately 100 grams of shabu with an estimated value of P680,000. The operation was conducted by joint personnel from the Batangas City Police Station and the Office of the Deputy Provincial Director for Operations-Drug Enforcement Unit in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 4A. Colonel Malinao emphasized the need for community participation in the fight against illegal drugs, urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.These operations are part of a larger nationwide effort to combat the illegal drug trade.
