Camarines Sur Governor Vincenzo Renato Luigi Villafuerte placed the province under “red alert” status, which activated the emergency operations center. Villafuerte earlier ordered pre-emptive evacuation of residents in high-risk areas, no-sailing policy and prohibition of activities near coastal areas and rivers.
The Philippine Coast Guard station in the province also suspended sea travel for small crafts with 250 gross tonnages or less due to rough to very rough sea conditions. In a rainfall advisory, Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration in Southern Luzon warned of moderate to heavy rains in Catanduanes and portions of Camarines Sur due to the Shear line.
