Heavy rainfall submerges a hut in floodwater somewhere in the Bicol region. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration warned of continuous heavy rainfall as tropical storm ‘Kristine’ maintained its strength while moving northwestward over the sea east of Bicol.
Based on its 11:00 p.m. weather bulletin on Tuesday, PAGASA said ‘Kristine’ is forecast to gradually intensify into a severe tropical storm before making its landfall either over Isabela or northern Aurora by Wednesday evening or early Thursday morning.As such, more areas in Luzon and Visayas were placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal no. 2:

VISAYAS – Aklan, Capiz, the northern portion of Antique including Caluya Islands, the northern portion of Iloilo , the rest of Eastern Samar, the rest of Northern Samar, Samar, Leyte, Biliran, and Southern Leyte‘Kristine’ was last spotted at 345 kilometers east northeast of Daet, Camarines Norte. It had maximum sustained winds of 75 km per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 90 km/h. It is forecast to move 270 km north northeast of Virac, Catanduanes by 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
