The newly-converted health facility at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City is expected to accommodate persons who are suspected and probable for COVID-19 soon following its turnover to the Philippine National Police (PNP) Medical Corps on Wednesday.
Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar said that after the construction is completed, the PNP Medical Corps will manage the operation of the fully-airconditioned PICC health facility that will care for patients with mild to moderate cases of COVID-19.
Hospital beds and other equipment such as IV stands, wheelchairs, and defibrillators are now installed in the PICC facility, which will also have a mobile pharmacy and a mobile X-ray machine, the secretary said. According to the PNP, 16 police, medical, and healthcare frontliners and a 42-member non-medical security augmentation contingent from the national headquarters assumed their posts Wednesday.
