RCMP spokesman Cpl. Chris Marshall said police started an investigation in July of last year after police were tipped that Pitts may be using the internet in violation of his ban. In September, they went to his address and seized cellphones, computers, computer accessories and documents. Pitts was arrested and charged with violating the prohibition order and released.
In those cases Pitts, 47, recorded livestreams of the assaults while giving the adults directions on how to assault the children. He would then send money to the adults, most of whom were in the Philippines. That happened at least four dozen times in 2011 and 2012, before he was arrested in Kings County. One of cases involved a woman who was assaulting her own daughter, and Pitts was trying to bring both of them to Canada.
