FIVE more Philippine languages will now be available on Google Translate, the search platform announced on Thursday.
In addition to Cebuano, Ilocano and basic Filipino , the platform said it now has Bicolano , Hiligaynon , Kapampangan, Pangasinan and Waray.These languages were added to the 110 other languages available in Google Translate , which include Breton , Abkhaz , Faroese, Greenlandic, Manx, Occitan, Tibetan and Cantonese, which is widely used in Hong Kong.
Some are major world languages with over 100 million speakers,' Google said in a statement.'Now, we're using artificial intelligence to expand the variety of languages we support. Thanks to our PaLM 2 large language model, we're rolling out 110 new languages to Google Translate, our largest expansion ever,' it added.The PaLM 2 model allows efficient translation of languages closely related.
