GLOBE Telecom Inc. (Globe) said on Friday that it had closed the final sale of its telecommunications tower assets to Unity Digital Infrastructure (Unity), a partnership between Aboitiz InfraCapital and Partners Group.
GLOBE Telecom Inc. said on Friday that it had closed the final sale of its telecommunications tower assets to Unity Digital Infrastructure , a partnership between Aboitiz InfraCapital and Partners Group. In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange , the telco said that it achieved the seventh closing of the sale of 121 towers to Unity for approximately P1.45 billion on Thursday, completing a deal for 447 towers in total.
In May 2023, Globe signed a sale and leaseback agreement with Unity for the sale of 447 towers in a deal said to be worth P5.40 billion. The telco said that it had now officially turned over 6,849 out of 7,506 towers included in its sale and leaseback portfolio, generating approximately P87.9 billion in proceeds. A total of 2,410 towers were transferred in 2022, another 2,057 in 2023 and 2,205 more in 2024.
