This is another milestone for the National Vaccination Program as it achieves 70.60 percent of its target, Galvez said, even if the number was supposed to be hit by Dec. 31, 2021. Galvez also stressed that “we did not stop vaccinating” in spite of the surge in COVID-19 cases at the start of 2022. Despite logistical limitations and the ongoing surge of infections driven by the Omicron variant, the country’s average daily jab rate still reached 1.04 million over the past three days, he said.
