AUTHORITIES caught five persons having a pot session in an anti-drug operation in Basilan province, the police said Friday, January 3, 2025.The police did not release the identities of the suspected drug users, who were arrested in an abandoned house during the conduct of a buy-bust operation on Thursday, January 2, in Colonia village, Lamitan City , Basilan .
The police launched the buy-bust operation following reports that an abandoned house in Colonia village is being used as a pot session haven.Seized from the arrested suspects were a medium and a small-sized heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of substance believed to be shabu, P500 marked money, P920 cash of different denominations believed to be proceeds in the sale of illegal drugs, two cellular phones, and an illegal drug paraphernalia.The suspects were detained while charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against them.The buy-bust operation was launched by the operatives of Lamitan City Police Station with the support of other police units in the city.
