First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos emphasizes the importance of collaboration between the government and private sector in achieving 'sustainable, meaningful, and inclusive change' at the World Governments Summit in Dubai.

First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos underscored the importance of collaboration between the government and private sector in achieving sustainable, meaningful, and inclusive change. Addressing global leaders at the World Governments Summit (WGS) in Dubai, she emphasized the Philippines' increased engagement with the summit, aligning with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s vision to foster unity among Filipinos for a nation that embodies its best potential.

'Government alone cannot achieve this,' she asserted. 'We need to work in close partnership with the private sector.' She highlighted the presence of Cabinet secretaries at the summit, signifying the government's commitment to engaging with various stakeholders.Mrs. Marcos emphasized that her role as First Lady has allowed her to work with both public and private sectors to bring about societal transformations. While acknowledging that their efforts may not be on a grand scale, she expressed pride in their impact on those most in need. She then shared three personal experiences concerning education, health, and the environment, which she believed resonated with the summit's discussions. For 28 years, she served as a law professor in public schools, deliberately teaching the same class of students for four consecutive years. This experience enabled her to witness their growth from apprehensive freshmen to confident seniors. 'It's always gratifying to see how education empowers youth and prepares them for future challenges,' she stated. She also discussed the Lab for ALL project, a healthcare and outreach program she initiated. 'It's a play on the words 'Love' and 'Lab' – short for 'laboratory.' Every week, we select a city and bring laboratory services to communities through mobile clinics,' she explained. The initiative involves doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals who volunteer their services. A week prior to each event, they provide free medical and dental services, along with medicines and vitamins, to communities lacking access to medical resources. Mrs. Marcos emphasized that this aligns with her husband's belief that 'government must bring medical services to the people and not the other way around.' She shared that the Lab for All project evolved from a medical service initiative to a comprehensive program offering business mentorship, legal services, scholarships, seedlings for farmers, and more. 'Eventually, our Lab for All project became a one-stop-shop for various services. It is always heartwarming to see the grateful smiles of thousands of our beneficiaries,' she concluded
