Eduard Bañez , a Los Angeles -based Filipino artist, has announced plans to produce a concert featuring both emerging and established Filipino artists in the city. Bañez, inspired by fellow Filipino Sofronio Vasquez 's recent victory on The Voice US, believes this concert will be a platform to showcase Filipino talent and offer messages of hope amidst the ongoing struggles against Asian hate. Bañez sees this concert as a powerful way to combat negativity through the shared love of music and art.
'I believe in our abilities. I believe in our stories. Even though certain individuals in America do not welcome us, we will continue to create, innovate, and do good for the community. The best thing we can do to combat hatred is to demonstrate love and service with our talents,' Bañez stated. He further expressed his admiration for Vasquez, stating that his win on The Voice US brought hope to the Asian community. 'Sofronio Vasquez's win on The Voice US gave the Asian community hope. Aside from his flawless voice, his authenticity earned him the title. He always cites his Filipino roots everywhere he travels, which is significant. As an artist, this gives me hope. I'm conceptualizing a concert.' Bañez also acknowledged the presence of other talented Filipinos emerging in the American entertainment scene, highlighting the strength and resilience of the Filipino community. The concert is still in its early stages, but Bañez envisions it as a celebration of Filipino culture and a testament to the community's ability to overcome adversity. He plans to include a diverse range of Filipino artists, potentially even incorporating Pinoy comedians or entertainers to create a well-rounded experience. Bañez himself boasts a colorful showbiz background in the Philippines, working in teleseryes, Nickelodeon, and hosting MTV Asia before moving to the United States. While he has found success in his current career, he still cherishes his showbiz roots and sees this concert as a way to reconnect with his passion. 'I believe that working in the entertainment industry taught me the grind mindset, which has helped me flourish in my current career. In life, I believe that is the key to success: grind until you obtain what you always wanted. Of course, you must take care of your mental health. That's my advice to the young kids. When I had to pause, I used the opportunity to reevaluate my life,' he shared. The concert is expected to be a powerful and inspiring event, showcasing the talent and resilience of the Filipino community while promoting messages of unity and hope
