Queensland police have interviewed several people in their investigation into the Wieambilla shooting but the probe could take months before questions are answered.

“What I can say is a number of people have been interviewed. Of course, all of the normal scientific and ballistic-style examinations are being made,” he said.“And, again, I want to commend the police who not only, obviously, attended that incident, responded to it, I want to pause to remember Matthew and Rachel, and also the neighbour Alan who simply turned up to give a neighbour a hand.

More than $83,000 has been raised for Dare’s wife Kerry to cover the costs of his funeral, while a state service will be held in Brisbane on Wednesday for McCrow and Arnold with full police honours. Police refused to comment further on the investigation, explaining it was part of the coronial inquiry and it would be inappropriate for them to comment on specifics.
