Local unions belonging to the Federation of Free Workers (FFW) on Wednesday welcomed the pronouncement that President Duterte will no longer seek another martial law extension in Mindanao.
FFW Vice President for Mindanao Aida Brillante said they are elated with such good news saying this will boost investments that will create more jobs in Mindanao.
“We welcome President Duterte’s announcement with approval,” added union president Arlene Degayo Golloso of the Ateneo de Davao High School Faculty Union-FFW.“FFW lauds and welcomes the non-extension of ML in Mindanao. It means the coming of jobs as a result the removal of fear of terror, the boosting of tourism and new investments coming to Mindanao,” he said.
“Without martial law, the PNP and AFP have ‘assured’ the citizenry of the stability of the Mindanao’s security situation,” he said.
