Sydney’s world-famous New Year’s Eve fireworks has been caught in a crossfire as NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet slams Labor's pledge to make the display free for everyone as 'bread and circuses'.
New South Wales Premier Dominic Perrottet has slammed Labor's pledge to make Sydney’s New Year’s Eve fireworks free if elected in March next year as"bread and circuses".
"This is an embarrassing announcement that shows the lack of policy depth,” he told reporters on Wednesday. Mr Perrottet argued there are"so many free places" to watch the fireworks despite some key vantage points on Sydney Harbour being sold at prices as high as $600. Mr Perrottet's comments come after Labor leader Chris Minns on Wednesday said the fireworks should be made available for everyone.
