Opposition Leader Chris Minns has vowed to remove fees for tickets to public vantage points as some families fork out hundreds of dollars for the view.
Now the opposition wants to make the New Year's Eve fireworks free for all again, by stripping the costs from specific locations. Deputy Labor leader Prue Car said with all the pressures on family budgets due to the rising cost of living, New Year's Eve celebrations shouldn't come at a cost.
