THE Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will set up anti-violence against women and children (VAWC) desks in shopping malls in Quezon City to mark National Women's Month this March.

The desks will be put up in Robinsons Novaliches and Ever Gotesco Commonwealth from March 13 to 24.Social workers will be in charge of the anti-VAWC desks, which will be tasked to provide information on protection regulations as well as interventions that are available to victims of abuse and violence.The DSWD will also start a digital advocacy campaign highlighting women's rights, legislation supporting women's empowerment, and information on programs and services accessible to women.

The DSWD will participate in a number of events to emphasize to its employees the significance of supporting women's rights as part of the department's intensified GAD campaign, in addition to joining the country in bringing awareness to the issue.The DSWD has designated every Wednesday as 'purple' day at the DSWD, the hue that has become synonymous with the month-long celebration and supports the campaign of the Philippine Commission on Women.
