MMDA to monitor SRP compliance in all Metro Manila markets

“Nakipag-ugnayan po ang Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), ang Metro Manila Council (MMC), at MMDA sa pag-inspeksyon ng mga palengke at titignan po kung sinusunod nila ang mga suggested retail prices (SRP),” MMDA spokesperson Melissa Carunungan said at the public briefing on Friday.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority intends to inspect all Metro Manila markets to monitor the vendors’ compliance with the suggested retail prices .

Carunungan said two retailers were caught selling onions at high prices during the inspection at the Agora Market in San Juan City and were given a notice of violation. Moreover, MMDA will coordinate with Metro Manila local government units to inspect all wet markets in the metropolis.
