The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is encouraging the local government units (LGUs) to submit their original list of emergency subsidy beneficiaries
“for validation and study”, even if it is beyond the indicative number of target beneficiaries set by the agency.DSWD Spokesperson Irene Dumlao said the Department is not closing its doors to proposals to restore the original number of target cash aid beneficiaries submitted by the LGUs.
The 17 Metro Manila mayors earlier sought the restoration of their original number of target emergency aid beneficiaries, which is higher than the DSWD’s actual target. The DSWD earlier disclosed that in Manila, a total of 185,680 beneficiaries got their P8,000 subsidy allocation. Emergency subsidies were given to 77,674 beneficiaries in Parañaque City on April 3.
