The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-Davao Region has disbursed P12 million in aid to families affected by the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) in the region. As of January 3, 2024, a total of 24,780 families, primarily from Davao Occidental and Davao Oriental, have been impacted by the ITCZ, resulting in floods and landslides.

800 Families Affected by Flooding and Landslides in Davao RegionThe Office of Civil Defense-Davao Region (OCD-Davao) reported that around 800 families were affected by flooding and landslides caused by the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) in the region. Around 877 families were preemptively evacuated due to flooding in Davao Occidental, while 10 families were evacuated in Davao Oriental. The OCD-Davao conducted both preemptive and forced evacuations in affected areas, and reported damaged infrastructure including the Lais Bridge and the National Bridge in Malita.
