A fierce shootout ensued, resulting in the deaths of two suspects and injuries sustained by another. Authorities swiftly apprehended the remaining suspects, including the alleged leader of the group, a woman identified as a civil engineer. Alongside the arrests, police seized two kilos of shabu and four firearms.Police Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas, the director of the Police Regional Office 4A in CALABARZON, detailed the operation. He explained that PRO4A had been monitoring the group suspected of selling illegal drugs. To confirm their activities, operatives posed as buyers, eventually confirming the presence of the substantial cash. When the woman, believed to be the group leader, returned to the vehicle, four armed men emerged, opening fire on the undercover police. A swift counter-attack by the law enforcement personnel ensued, leading to the tragic outcome. Lucas further stated that the guns seized from the suspects are currently undergoing ballistic tests at the forensic group. These firearms are suspected to have been used in various crimes not only within CALABARZON but also in neighboring provinces.The unidentified bodies of the two deceased suspects remain unclaimed. The other arrested suspects are yet to provide statements regarding the incident. The investigation continues, with authorities working to uncover the full extent of the group's illicit activities.
