Tolentino said that the residential area in Barangay San Roque will now be safeguarded by the newly-built 378-lineal-meter river wall.
It will also minimize crop losses as it will protect the agricultural lands from heavy inland flooding which has proven to be the headache of the local farmers in the past, the DPWH official added.The DPWH Nueva Ecija Second District Engineering Office , which supervised the project, said it was putting great importance in implementing projects that will alleviate flooding especially in food production areas in Nueva Ecija, which is recognized as the “Rice Granary of the Philippines.
