DOTr, LTFRB should focus on moving people, not paperwork
EARLIER this week, two of the country's motorcycle taxi services, Angkas and Move It, were summoned by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board to explain their apparent breach of the cap on the number of riders allowed under the Department of Transportation's 'motorcycle taxi pilot study,' which is being led by the LTFRB .
The MC Taxi TWG was first formed in January 2019, and is staffed by the DOTr assistant secretary and chief of the Land Transportation Office as chairman, a board member of the LTFRB as vice chairman, and the chief of the Inter-Agency Council for Traffic, chairperson of the Office for Transportation Cooperatives, the chief of the LTO-law enforcement staff, the chief of the LTFRB technical division, and representatives from the DOTr Road Transport and Infrastructure Office as members.
