The Department of Health (DOH) on Sunday recorded 1,323 new COVID-19 cases, the highest single-day tally since February.
Based on the DOH’s latest data, the country’s active cases increased to 9,703 from 9,105 on Saturday. This is the highest active case total since April 28, when 9,585 active cases were recorded.According to the DOH, the regions with the most cases in the last two weeks were the National Capital Region with 5,520 followed by Calabarzon with 2,107 and Central Luzon with 958.
The Health Department said at least 17,074 individuals were tested, while 312 testing labs submitted data on July 2. The DOH noted that the bed occupancy in the country was 18.3%, with 5,362 beds occupied, while 23,985 were vacant.
