The Department of Health ( DOH ) has issued a code white alert until January 10, 2024, in preparation for the Feast of Jesus Nazareno. The National Capital Region (NCR) is on standby to respond quickly to any health emergencies or incidents during the large religious gathering. The DOH plans to deploy medical teams and health stations along key areas of the Traslacion procession route, including Quirino Grandstand, Rizal Park, SM Manila, Ayala Bridge, P.
Casal Street, and Quinta Market on January 9. 201 personnel from the Health Emergency Response Team of 20 DOH hospitals in Metro Manila will provide medical support. Partner agencies like the MMDA, National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, NCRPO, BFP, Philippine Coast Guard, and Metro Manila Center for Health Development will play crucial roles in ensuring coordinated and effective health responses. Health stations along the Traslacion route will offer basic and advanced care, with ambulances on standby. The DOH encourages devotees to avoid attending the Traslacion if they are unwell or experiencing symptoms like cough and colds to prevent further illness and the spread of viruses. It also emphasizes the importance of following health and safety precautions during the event, recommending frequent water intake, comfortable clothing, and limiting exposure to the heat to avoid heatstroke and other heat-related illnesses
