The Department of Health (DOH) on Friday said the number of reported fireworks-related injuries from December 21, 2022 to January 6, 2023 rose to 307.

The Health Department said at least 16 additional fireworks-related injuries were recorded from sentinel hospitals as of January 6.According to the department, 306 were injured due to fireworks while only one case was due to a stray bullet.

At least 113 patients were injured in the hand, 86 in the eye, 42 on the head, 37 on the legs, and 35 on the forearm or arms.The top fireworks involved in mishaps were kwitis, boga, and 5-star.Meanwhile, those who are injured due to firecrackers must go to the nearest health facility for immediate proper treatment.
