The Department of Trade and Industry has issued notices of violation to four retail firms for selling fireworks not covered by the Philippine Standard license and for not bearing the required PS mark.

According to DTI, the fireworks seized during the said operation are on top of the unlicensed fireworks nabbed during the agency’s ramped-up enforcement in Bocaue, Bulacan, on December 27, 2022. To ensure product quality and safety, DTI encouraged the public to purchase fireworks with the PS mark. Fireworks are among the products listed under Mandatory Certification with the Bureau of Philippine Standards . Products included in the list are electric fans, microwave ovens, refrigerators, washing machines, and television set, among others.
