PALO, Leyte – The Department of Health regional office 8 (DOH-8) clarified, Tuesday, that the death of a patient under investigation (PUI) last April 1 was not due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

“On the brighter side, we would like to announce that the sample of the PUI from Tacloban City who died a couple of days ago, is negative for the virus. Therefore, the cause of his death is not due to this deadly virus,” Director Molon said.Last Sunday, April 5, DOH-8 had issued a statement denying the reports circulating online that the PUI died due to COVID-19.
