Lino Brocka’s ‘Maynila, Sa Kuko ng Liwanag’ revolves around the story of a man looking for his lover in the harsh city of ManilaBrocka X Bernal, a documentary on the life and work of Philippine National Artists for Film Lino Brocka and Ishmael Bernal, is set to be screened on Aug. 8 at the Ayala Malls Manila Bay. It provides a comprehensive portrait of the iconic auteurs as street parliamentarians.
The docu examines how the creative geniuses used Manila and its inhabitants as a milieu and character which greatly affected the lives of Filipinos living in the metropolis. Mel Chionglo was a filmmaker who served as one of the founders of the Directors’ Guild of the Philippines
