THE Department of Migrant Workers assured the family of the slain overseas Filipino worker in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to always care for them the way Marjorette Garcia did when she was alive. In a statement after the arrival of the remains of Garcia, DMW Officer-in-Charge Hans Leo Cacdac assured Garcia's family that the government's presence in their lives will not end with the repatriation of her remains.
'It is DMW's promise to provide care to you the way Marjorette did, especially to her children,' he added. The DMW and the family 'welcomed' home Marjorette as her remains were repatriated from Saudi Arabia on Friday, October 13, 2023.'It is with broken hearts that we mourn her loss, that we bring her home in this manner, the victim of one senseless act of violence we have yet to comprehend,' said Cacdac.
