With the deadline only a little over two weeks away, the Department of Information and Communications Technology is urging mobile phone users to register their SIMs to avoid deactivation.
This translates to 37.94% of the 168.977 million SIMs across the country, with Smart Communications Inc. accounting for 32.038 million; Globe Telecom Inc. for 27.257 million; and DITO Telecommunity Corporation for 4.818 million.
"Mawawala ang lahat ng remaining balance and promos after April 26...forfeited 'yan lahat," said PLDT and Smart first vice president and corporate communications head Cathy Yang. "Magba-black out ang inyong mobile phone at hindi na kayo makakatawag at makakapagtext at makakapaggamit ng mga apps, makakapagbayad o magpadala ng pera."— BM, GMA Integrated News
