Davao City's district libraries play a vital role in promoting literacy and lifelong learning among residents. These libraries offer free access to books, Wi-Fi, and various activities, catering to students, researchers, and the community.
THE City Government of Davao has, for years, consistently supported literacy and lifelong learning through the district libraries built all over the city.Grace Platitas, Calinan District Librarian, in an interview with the city-owned Davao City Disaster Radio, said that Calinan District Library serves Dabawenyos by providing free access to books, Wi-Fi , and board games.She said the library served more than 4,000 clients as of December 2024.
“Sa atoang district library diri sa Calinan, wala mi naga-require og library ID. Naga-require lang mi og library ID kung maghiram sila ,” she added.Maria Malit Palmero, the Toril District Librarian, said the Toril library served 3,797 clients as of December 2024.She said that most of their clients come to the library to do their assignments.She said they also provide activities for the children that visit the library during summer.

P3.2 Million Shabu Seized from Two Suspects in Davao CityTask Force Davao personnel and Calinan Police Station officers intercepted a Nissan Navara vehicle on December 22, 2024, at 12:20 PM. Two suspects, identified as Ronie (37) and Jasper (29), were apprehended. A suspicious bag found in their possession contained a large quantity of suspected shabu worth P3,229,864.
