THE Covid-19 positivity rate in the National Capital Region (NCR) has decreased to 4.9 percent as of July 1, OCTA Research Group Fellow Dr. Guido David said on Sunday.

He said that the NCR's positivity rate the week prior is 6 percent.'Positivity rate also fell below 5 percent in Laguna and Rizal ,' he said. 'Positivity rates decreased or stayed flat in many provinces.' The provinces where the positivity rate went down include Bulacan with 5.5 percent from last week's 6.7 percent; Cagayan with 15.3 percent from last week's 16.7 percent; Camarines Sur with 14.5 percent from last week's 18.8 percent; Cavite with 6.

5 percent; and Zambales with 6 percent from last week's 9.5 percent.As of July 2, the Department of Health logged 423 new cases which brought the overall tally to 4,165,499 with 6,925 active cases.Two deaths were verified for the month of June.Bed utilization across the country continues to be low, with 17.7 percent, or 3,010 beds occupied out of 17,026 available in non-intensive care units Covid-19 bed allocation, 1,998 ICU beds, 13.7 percent, or 273 are occupied.
