PETALING JAYA: Police are believed to have arrested an aide to a Bersatu assemblyman in connection with criminal breach of trust (CBT) amounting to RM533,440.
An online portal quoted sources as saying that the man in his 30s was arrested with two others, including his wife, on April 10.
The sources said police are wrapping-up the investigation before submitting it to the Deputy Public Prosecutor.The aide invited the victim, a company director, to bid for a RM1.7mil contract for a Youth and Sports Ministry programme in Perak and was asked to pay 3% commission and bid for the project through a non-governmental organisation, believed to be owned by the suspect's wife.The case is being investigated under Section 408 of the Penal Code for CBT.
