The cloud cluster being monitored by PAGASA has developed into a low-pressure area (LPA) on Tuesday afternoon, July 11. ManilaBulletin READ:
If it becomes a tropical depression, it will be locally named “Dodong,” the next name on PAGASA’s list of tropical cyclones.
In the next 24 hours, PAGASA said the trough or extension of LPA may bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Albay, Catanduanes, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Sorsogon, Masbate, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, and Samar. The combined effects of the trough of LPA and the intertropical convergence zone may also bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over northern Palawan, including Calamian, Cuyo, and Kalayaan Islands, Western Visayas, and Zamboanga Peninsula.
PAGASA warned of flash floods or landslides due to some moderate to intermittent heavy rainfall in areas affected by these weather systems. Meanwhile, the rest of the country, including Metro Manila, will continue to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening.
