Poro Mayor Edgar Rama and municipal officials are facing legal action for allegedly converting private land into a public cemetery without the owner's consent. The disputed land, owned by RMD Agricultural Development Inc., was used for burials during the Covid-19 pandemic and later expanded into a public cemetery. The company, however, only discovered the unauthorized use in December 2024. A lawsuit seeks property recovery, an injunction, an inventory, and damages. RMD Agricultural Development Inc. has chosen to donate the land used for burials to the affected families rather than reclaiming it.
