Cebu City Government broke ground on Monday, Dec. 2, 2024, for a free public Wi-Fi outdoor access point at Plaza Sugbo to enhance digital connectivity . Led by Mayor Raymond Alvin Garcia , the installation ceremony was joined by City Councilors and department heads. Garcia highlighted the importance of free internet access for youth and aspired for each barangay to have free Wi-Fi. The project, budgeted at over P3.
9 million, is expected to be completed within 90 days by Trend and Technologies Inc, with plans to extend Wi-Fi access to Plaza Independencia
