CEBU CITY — A complete rehabilitation of the controversial Cebu City Sports Center track oval has been recommended after an inspection by the city council on Tuesday.City Councilor Jerry Guardo, chairman of the infrastructure committee, led the assessment and confirmed significant damage to the rubberized track that needed urgent repairs, especially with the staging of the Sinulog Festival in January next year.
He is expected to formally present his findings to Garcia.SBD Builders, meanwhile, has confirmed that repair materials have arrived and are pending approval from Garcia to begin. While the original contract with SBD Builders focused on repairs to the grandstand, Guardo's inspection found significant wear in additional sections, particularly at the rear side.Shaun Doherty, representing SBD Builders, initially proposed a partial repair approach.
